Extra practice:
One of our important practices
in our day is emotional regulation. We practice deep breathing techniques. The
important part is practicing when children are calm so that when upset, it is
an easily accessible tool for them to use. Practice integrating deep breathing
during the day. It is most beneficial to be practiced in sets of three.
For today, ask your child to practice balloon breathing and see if
they remember how to do the exercise. They should place their hands on their
head, raising them up as they fill their lungs and bellies with air, once full
they push their hands back down to their heads while releasing the air
(deflating like a balloon). Practice three times.
